WHO WE ARE 01 — IAPZ
ORGANISATIONAL IDENTITY

Who we are

Initiative Against Poverty in Zimbabwe (IAPZ) exists to support people and communities as they work toward stronger, more resilient and more sustainable futures.

Our work is rooted in the belief that lasting progress is strengthened when people have access to opportunity, knowledge, practical skills and the resources needed to participate meaningfully in their own development.

IAPZ brings together a community-centred perspective with practical approaches across areas such as food security, education and skills development, livelihoods, environmental sustainability, youth development and community development.

Our approach recognises that poverty is complex and that meaningful change requires more than a single intervention. It requires listening to communities, understanding local realities and supporting solutions that can create lasting value.

OUR PURPOSE

Opportunity should be within reach.

IAPZ works to support pathways through which people and communities can strengthen their capabilities, improve their livelihoods and participate more fully in shaping their futures.

OPPORTUNITY

Creating pathways for people to access knowledge, skills, resources and possibilities.

RESILIENCE

Supporting communities to strengthen their ability to respond to challenges and build sustainable futures.

DIGNITY

Recognising people as active participants in development rather than passive recipients of assistance.

OUR VISION

A Zimbabwe where people and communities can realise their potential.

IAPZ envisions communities in which children, young people, women and families have greater opportunities to learn, participate, build livelihoods and contribute to a stronger future.

OUR MISSION

Working with communities to turn opportunity into possibility.

IAPZ seeks to contribute to practical, community-centred responses to poverty and vulnerability by supporting initiatives that strengthen food security, education, skills, livelihoods, environmental sustainability and opportunities for children and young people.

Our mission is grounded in collaboration, practical action and respect for local knowledge.
